Life Safety Code Update: Mandatory Sprinklers for Nursing Homes

11/17/2008 - On Aug. 13, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) published the final regulation mandating sprinklers in all nursing homes. The regulation went into effect Oct. 14, and all nursing homes must be fully sprinklered by Aug. 13, 2013. Read more.

11/17/2008 - We applaud Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.) for releasing a health care proposal that includes long-term care and that is in such close alignment with AAHSA's Five Big Ideas to transform aging services. We admire that his initiative addresses quality, finance, transitions, workforce, and technology in its efforts to determine how our health care system can become more rational and accessible to the millions of Americans who do not now have coverage. New Tools Available to Reduce Direct Care Worker Turnover

11/10/2008 - AAHSA members can now benefit from the tools, resources and findings from the Better Jobs Better Care (BJBC) grantees in four new resources.
