Journey Project Resource Center
The Journey Project Resource Center serves as the home office and meeting place for the Community Network Journey Project and Journey Project Coordinating Council. The Resource Center is located in the Environmental Center located at 55 A Ridgeway Avenue Santa Rosa and is accessible during Environmental Center business hours (Mon and Thurs 4 - 6 PM) or by appointment with the Community Network.
The Resource Center contains a wealth of information accessible to professionals and the general public, including:
- research used to develop Journey Project workshops and the publication Journey to Life’s End: A Traveler’s Guide, authored by Susan Keller, M.L.S., M.A., and published by the Community Network for Appropriate Technologies;
- state-of-the-art materials gathered from throughout the United States concerning model programs, activities, legislation, studies and publications;
- tools and resources aimed at improving quality of life and care through life’s end for the elderly, the dying, their families and caregivers; and
- an information kiosk of materials provided by local agencies.
There is a wide range of multi-media materials in the Journey Project Resource Center including:
- key videos in the movement to improve end-of-life care;
- workshop training programs produced by the Community Network;
- slide collection providing a visual summary of key studies, tools and resources, political cartoons and other information used in presentation of the Community Network workshop series; and
- an audiotape collection covering the variety of Journey Project workshops completed, important teleconferences and conference presentations by movement leadership and other reference materials of value to collection users.
The Community Network has a high-speed Internet work station in the Center to help facilitate research and access to our online materials.
Resource Center materials may be used on site or checked out for a one-week period by registered users. A copying machine is onsite for limited copying and Copy Center nearby for more extensive copying. Publications, audio and video tapes produced by the Community Network are available for purchase at the Resource Center also.
